this is MY TESTIMONY
I was born in 1990 and I’m a Ugandan by nationality, I grew up as an orphan after the death of my dad who passed on in a motorcycle (Boda Boda) accident, leaving me when am only 6 years old. After some time, my mom became a concubine to a Muslim man who convinced and promised her to take care of us, so I joined a new family like that. I was also forced to be circumcised thus changing from Christianity to Muslim even my names changed from Tebusweke John to Tebusweke Abdallah. Time reached, then my stepdad stopped to give us support and Care. He started torturing me every day. Time came, when I was fade-up of the rough manners of my step Dad, so I decided to escape from home to go to the streets of Kampala and other neighboring places looking for survival. After some few years, their came a Good Samaritan who picked me from the street and took me to one of the nearby churches and admitted me into a Sunday school. I spent all of my time in the church premise’s learning God’s word. I took for about 3 years without knowing anything about my parents. Fortunately one day here came an old lady at church whom I realized to be one of my mother’s best friend, she requested the church pastor to take me with her to her home, which the pastor accepted. She became my guardian in Christ Jesus, I became a born Again and even inverted my names back to John Tebusweke and then after some months, she started to narrate a story about my family. Sadly, it was a sad story! This old lady told me that, one day when she was walking along the street, she found people gathering looking at a person on the roadside, after recognizing the person, it was his friend (my mother), she had been knocked by a vehicle and had died instantly. Burial of the dead body took place thus leaving me behind as an orphan. I was over whelmed by that narrated story. After that life had to continue, time came when this old lady since she was also a single mother was unable to cater for us. “Time came when we had even no food for a day” I was forced to go back to the street to collect plastic bottles and scrap which I was selling to one of the factories to get money in order to survive and still cater for my guardian. Because of the challenges, torture from my stepdad, and other humiliations, plus the life I passed through when I was still on the street, I was challenged, and my prayer was, to start an orphanage ministry in God’s name. After growing, under God’s mercy, “God who said he will never leave his people to suffer” the one who fulfills promises made for me a miracle and I was able startup an orphanage ministry called ‘Hopelands Children Ministry’ and I thank God for that.
“God is good and great”
